Several months ago we had  Hurricane Irina which Flooded many homes in our area. Many insured’s claims were denied.  Due to the fact that it was categorized as a flood, which is a separate coverage. The majority of flooded homes in our area had water in their basement due to the backup sewers and had no coverage.
